NITHYA KRIYA FOR DIABETES

Steps:

  1. GOMUKHASANA
  2. UDDIYANA BANDHA
  3. BASTRIKA PRANAYAMA
  4. MOORCHA PRANAYAMA
  5. BRAMHARI PRANAYAMA

1. GOMUKHASANA

GHERANDA SAMHITA, UPADESHA 2, VERSE 16

  1. Bend the left knee and place the left foot near the right buttock.
  2. Bend the right knee and place it over the left thigh so that the right foot lies near the left buttock.
  3. Now place the hands on the foot or keep it on knees.
  4. Raise your head a little.

2. IN GOMUKHASANA – UDDIYANA BANDHA

GHERANDA SAMHITA, UPADESHA 3, VERSE 10 TECHNIQUE

  1. Be seated in the same posture.
  2. Place the palms on the knees.
  3. Keep the spine straight.
  4. Take a deep breath in and exhale completely.
  5. Now rest your chin on your chest raising the shoulders.
  6. Pull the abdominal muscles inward so that the organs of the abdomen touch the back muscles.
  7. Hold as long as you can.
  8. Relax the abdomen and relax your chin.
  9. Then again hold as you can and relax.
  10. Do this for 21 times.

3. IN GOMUKHASANA – BASTRIKA

GHERANDA SAMHITA, UPADESHA 5, VERSES 75- 77 TECHNIQUE

  1. Slowly allow the body to inhale.
  2. With a bellowing sound forcefully blow out air out of both the nostrils so that your abdomen gets tucked in.
  3. Do this for 21 times.

4. IN GOMUKHASANA – MOORCHA PRANAYAMA

HATHA YOGA PRADIPIKA, CHAPTER 2, VERSE 69 WARNING ANYONE SUFFERING FROM HEART DISEASE, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE OR VERTIGO MUST NOT ATTEMPT THIS PRACTCE. TECHNIQUE

  1. Inhale gradually.
  2. Fix yourself in Jalandhara Bandha – means – putting your chin on the chest and lock.
  3. Hold as long as you can.
  4. Then relax as slowly as you can.
  5. Repeat this for 21 times.

5. IN GOMUKHASANA – BHRAMARI PRANAYAMA

GHERANDA SAMHITA, UPADESHA 5, VERSES 78 TECHNIQUE

  1. Sit in the same posture.
  2. Put your thumb into your ears.
  3. Start hummming as deeply as possible while you inhale and exhale.
  4. Do this for 7 minutes.
